Safety Requirements
Cup and Club kart: 12 years + and at least 140 cm tall
JR Cup Kart: 7 years oldTandem kart: (driver): 16 years + and at least 140 cm tallTandem kart: (passenger): 6 years + and at least 120 cm tall
Weight: 120 kg per driver (single kart)
Height: 200 cm (6 ft 6 in)
Although you may meet the minimum height and age, you must still be able to fully control the kart.
Some customers may be required to complete a short control test before racing — the final decision rests with Ace Motorsport staff.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your booking. This allows time for registration, safety briefing, and gear fitting. If you arrive late, you may miss your race and be moved to a later session if space allows.
No. Ace Motorsport has a strict zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drugs on all self-drive activities.
Anyone suspected of being under the influence will be refused entry or removed from the session without refund.
A 15-minute (colin dale) 10 mins (Mount Smart) Health & Safety break is required between races for all drivers. This ensures both the karts and drivers are ready for the next session and allows staff to run safety checks.
What to Wear
Closed-toe footwear is required — no Crocs, sandals, or open shoes.
Avoid loose clothing or accessories such as scarves or oversized sleeves that could catch in the kart.
Crop tops, short shorts, tutus, or capes are not suitable for racing.
Dress comfortably in clothes that allow easy movement.
Yes — you can bring your own NZ-approved full-face helmet, but it must be checked and approved by Ace Motorsport staff before use.
If you’re unsure whether your helmet meets the standard, please check with our team at the counter before racing.
Yes — every racer is supplied with:
A sanitised helmet and disposable hair net
A range of helmet sizes (S, M, L, XL) for a secure fit
A full safety briefing and instruction from our trained race marshals before you drive
We recommend removing all loose jewellery, watches, and accessories before racing.
These can interfere with your safety gear or become a hazard during the race.
Yes — lightweight, comfortable clothing is fine as long as it’s not loose or flowing.
Avoid open shoulders, crop tops, or anything that exposes skin that might contact seat belts or harnesses.
We don’t recommend it. Phones can easily slip out during racing — it has happened before — and Ace Motorsport takes no responsibility for any loss or damage.
We provide small containers where you can store your phone and personal items while you race; however, these are not lockable or supervised, so please leave valuables at your own risk.

Roughly 15 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

Yes. Being inside Go Media Stadium Mt Smart, Ace Motorsport has excellent bus and train links nearby.
The stadium’s Penrose train station and several bus routes are within walking distance of the track.
Ample free parking is available outside our venue except during major events.

All Ace Motorsport timing is powered by Racefacer — our digital race and results system.

Yes — we race in all weather unless conditions become unsafe.
Wet sessions are some of the most exciting!
Bring suitable clothing as you may get wet; Ace Motorsport is not responsible for damage to clothing or footwear.
In the case of torrential rain or flooding, we may slow the karts, postpone, or reschedule your session for safety.
Yes, you can wear a GoPro or other securely mounted camera at your own risk if you have your own helmet with the GoPro mounts.
Please avoid filming other guests, and if you do, do not post footage of them publicly without consent.

Ace Motorsport is not responsible for damage or loss of personal cameras or mounts.
Yes. Remove your glasses before putting the helmet on, then carefully slide them back through the visor once fitted.
Tinted or reactive lenses are not permitted as they can reduce visibility.
Racing Information
Each race is 10 minutes, with most drivers completing 15–19 laps, depending on pace most customer do a lap in a little under or over 30 seconds.
At our Go Media Satdium in Mount Smart our karts can reach up to 70 km/h on the back straight — the fastest rental karts in Auckland.
At our track in Colin Dale motorsport park our karts can reach up to 50 km/h
Our Urban Circuit is over 470 metres long, with lap times averaging around 30 seconds for quick drivers.
Up to 14 karts can be on the track simultaneously.
No — they’re single-gear karts. Simply brake, steer, and accelerate. It’s beginner-friendly but still seriously fast.
Yes. We use top-tier rental karts and modern safety systems.
All racers receive a full safety briefing and equipment before every race.
Absolutely! Our circuit is super wide and perfect for both first-timers and experienced drivers.
Our team will help you feel confident behind the wheel before heading out.
Yes — absolutely! You can select our 2-Race or 3-Race packages online, which are automatically spaced with a mandatory 10-minute safety break between sessions.
Ten minutes might not sound long, but once you’ve been out there, you’ll realise how physically demanding karting can be.
We recommend booking two sessions to start, and if you’re still feeling ready for more after your break, just let our team know — we can often add a third race on the day (subject to availability).
Raceclub Membership
Yes. For 2026, RaceClub is available as a 12-month annual membership designed for passionate and regular racers.From 2027, RaceClub will become a monthly membership, we look forward to tell you more about next years raceclub package later in the year for now watch this space.
RaceClub is Ace Motorsport's exclusive membership programme for passionate racers.Members receive access to RaceClub events, discounted practice sessions, exclusive member benefits, and priority access to selected endurance races, tournaments, and special events.
2026 Annual Membership: Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.2027 Monthly Membership: Membership continues on a month-to-month basis until cancelled, giving you ongoing access to new types of RaceClub benefits.
No — Raceclub uses our professional Ace rental karts, so anyone can compete on equal terms.
Just bring your usual racing energy (and closed shoes).
Absolutely! Raceclub is open to all skill levels.
Each event includes a briefing and practice laps, so new members can build experience safely.
For the remainder of 2026, RaceClub memberships can only be purchased at either Ace Motorsport venue.From 2027, you'll be able to join online or in person, making it even easier to become a RaceClub member.
From 2027, RaceClub will move to a monthly membership.If you purchase a 2026 annual RaceClub membership, you'll continue to receive your full 12 months of membership and all associated benefits—nothing changes until your membership expires.If you'd prefer to switch earlier, you can upgrade to the new monthly membership at any time. We'll apply a credit equal to the remaining value of your current annual membership towards your new monthly membership, so you won't lose the value of your existing membership.
Yes. Your RaceClub membership is valid at both Ace Motorsport circuits, allowing you to enjoy member benefits, discounts, and eligible RaceClub events across both locations.
Venue Food and Operations
We don’t offer on-site food at any of our tracks, but we’ve partnered with the awesome team at Lilyworld at our Go Media Stadium Mount Smart Track — just metres away from the track.They’re fully licensed and can cater for small groups or large corporate events.Contact us for help coordinating your booking with them.
No. When Go Media Stadium Mt Smart hosts major events (concerts, games, festivals), our track becomes a stadium car park.
During these times, we close for safety and reopen once the venue clears.
We’ll always post updates online — all stadium event dates are subject to change.
Family & Spectators
Yes — absolutely! We welcome and love having spectators. Watching the action is completely free, and it’s a great way to cheer on your family and friends.
Come down, enjoy the atmosphere, and soak up the race-day energy — it’s genuinely just as fun to watch as it is to race!
Yes. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their waiver online before racing.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at the venue, even if the adult isn’t racing.
Yes at our Colin Dale Cup Circuit we have karts that kid as young as 7 can race in.
Bookings & Changes
Yes — bookings can be moved (subject to availability) if you contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled time.
Refunds are not provided for change-of-mind cancellations, but we’re happy to help you reschedule.

Pathway To Motorsport
Pathway is Ace Motorsport's driver development programme. Designed for aspiring racers of all ages, it provides structured coaching that develops driving technique, racecraft, confidence, and motorsport knowledge through progressive training levels.

Not at all. Pathway is designed for anyone who wants to improve their driving, develop their racecraft, or take their motorsport journey further.Whether you're a young driver taking your first steps into motorsport or an experienced racer looking to refine your skills, there is a place for you. While Fundamentals is designed for drivers building their foundations useally ages 7-15, more experienced drivers may be ready to start in Essentials made for yaers 15 -18 or even move directly into a Specialty programme.
No experience is required to join Pathway. The programme is designed to support drivers at every stage of their motorsport journey, from complete beginners through to experienced racers.If you're new to karting and want to learn the fundamentals of controlling a kart, understanding racing lines, and building confidence, Fundamentals is the right place to start.If you already have karting experience, such as Rotax racing experience or significant arrive-and-drive competition experience, Essentials may be the right fit to help refine your racecraft and develop your skills further.For drivers currently competing at a semi-professional or professional level, Specialties provides targeted coaching to help take your driving to the next level and support your continued pathway in motorsport.

No. Ace Motorsport provides everything you need to participate, including the kart and safety equipment. Just arrive ready to learn.If you decide to take the next step into competitive karting, we can support you throughout your journey and help guide your progression towards New Zealand's top levels of motorsport.
Yes. Pathway is designed to build the skills and habits used in competitive motorsport. Many of the techniques you'll learn transfer directly into karting and circuit racing, making it an ideal foundation for drivers looking to progress.
Yes. Every session includes coaching and personalised feedback to help you understand what you're doing well and where you can improve.
Each Pathway programme is designed differently depending on the driver's goals and experience.Fundamentals is a one-day school holiday programme designed for drivers who are new to karting and want to build confidence, learn the basics of kart control, and understand the foundations of racing.Essentials is a one-day training programme focused on developing drivers who already have some karting experience and want to improve their racecraft, consistency, and driving technique.Specialties is a yearly development programme for more advanced drivers who are looking for ongoing coaching, performance development, and support as they progress through their motorsport journey.
RaceClub Cup
The RaceClub Cup is a six-round championship exclusively for RaceClub members. You'll race against other passionate drivers on two unique circuits, earning championship points at every round. Whether you're chasing podiums or simply want competitive racing, it's the closest thing to real motorsport without owning a race car.
Each weight class has its own championship. At the end of the six-round season, the driver with the highest total points in Class A and the driver with the highest total points in Class B will each be crowned the RaceClub Cup Champion for their respective class.
To ensure fair competition, all drivers will be weighed before Round 1. The median weight of the field will be used to divide competitors into two weight classes:Class A – Drivers above the median weight.Class B – Drivers at or below the median weight.Each class competes for its own championship and points are awarded separately within each weight class.

The RaceClub Cup is held annually, bringing together New Zealand's best arrive-and-drive racers to compete across multiple circuits. As New Zealand's first multi-venue arrive-and-drive championship, drivers battle over six championship rounds to crown one RaceClub Cup Champion.
